Reiki Healing

Reiki is a form of healing that is spiritually-based and was developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui. After receiving levels of instruction and attunement, a Reiki Practitioner can induce a healing effect on themself or others by use of an inexhaustible supply of energy, or ‘chi’ which is directed to the patient’s body and system. Reiki is a holistic therapy which can address the physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual levels of the patient, depending on what is required. The practitioner places their hands (non-invasively) on or near various points on the patient’s body – (or alternatively, can work from a geographical distance) to activate and enhance the body’s natural healing processes.

Amanda has found that during Reiki sessions, information or messages tend to present themselves to her for the client, so she has introduced a combined session of Reading and Reiki to allow for this. Sessions are also available without reading or information, if preferred.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy was developed by Australian osteopath, Tom Bowen and is a holistic therapy which now is practised worldwide. It involves use of gentle, rolling motions, with very light touches to the body, with the effect of making muscles tighten or loosen as needed.

Points on the body are stimulated and then the body is given short spaces of time to adjust and release stresses - tapping into the body’s own self-regulatory system and stimulating it to effectively heal itself.

Amanda first studied the therapy for her own well-being, but was prompted to offer her services to clients after treatments on her father achieved seemingly “miraculous” results and she was repeatedly asked by others for sessions.

It is usual to have two sessions, one week apart for the therapy to be applied in full.

A Bowen session with Amanda takes approximately one hour.
